Dell Inspiron 3000 2-in-1 laptops on sale for $99 off

TwitterFacebook

MacBooks make for some pretty awesome laptops, but there are some drawbacks to Apple computers. For starters, they’re pricey — the cheapest MacBook on Apple’s official site will run you $849, and most cost more than $1,000. Aside from price, MacBooks don’t have a ton of bonus features, like touchscreen or 2-in-1 capabilities.

If you’re in the market for a cheaper laptop that can also double as a tablet, check out the Dell Inspiron 3000 2-in-1 laptop, currently on sale for $279.99. That’s a savings of $99.

This 11-inch laptop is equipped with CinemaSound and CinemaStream, which give you studio-quality sound and a seamless, stutter-free streaming experience. Its 360-degree hinge supports four different modes, so you can adjust the computer to your needs and get the perfect angle for browsing, watching, and gaming. Read more...

The best 4K TVs on sale this weekend: Shop LG, Samsung, Sony, and more

TwitterFacebook

We entertainment lovers have one thing we can all agree on: There are just way too many good shows and movies to watch right now. While it seems silly to complain about too much of a good thing, it can actually become extremely stressful to deal with your growing backlog of sitcoms, miniseries, and feature films. They really start to pile up, and it can get to the point where you just want to give up TV-watching altogether.

Our suggestion? Get your Marie Kondo on and get rid of all the stuff on your list that doesn’t spark joy. After? Get ready to enjoy only the best of the best in entertainment, curated by you. But, if you really want to enjoy your new list of binge-able goodies, you need to watch them on a beautiful 4K TV. Don’t have one yet? Well, looks like it’s time for an upgrade.  Read more...

Spotify is testing a 'social listening' feature that lets friends DJ together

TwitterFacebook

There will soon be a way to stream music like it's 2011 all over again. Every elder millennial's dream!

Spotify appears to be testing a "Social Listening" feature that lets friends control the music together. This is similar-ish to its collaborative playlist feature, but it contains a real-time component. The idea is that collaborators are listening to the same songs, together — whether physically in the same room, or apart.

Software engineer Jane Manchun Wong, who is known for discovering unreleased app features by digging through code, recently spotted the feature and posted about it on Twitter. Manchun Wong found the feature buried in Spotify's Android app code, which she combs through for "clues" of what the company is working on.  Read more...

Lyft's self-driving car service in Vegas passes 50,000 rides

TwitterFacebook

Lyft's self-driving cars have been picking up passengers around Las Vegas for the past year. This week the autonomous ride service hit 50,000 rides.

The cars are requested through the Lyft app as usual, but are clearly noted as autonomous vehicles. Lyft works with self-driving company Aptiv to offer the service, which charges riders the same as the equivalent usual Lyft ride. A safety driver is still in the car.

At the 50,000 ride marker, Lyft pointed out that its self-driving cars average a 4.97 star rating and 92 percent of riders gave feedback that they felt safe during the ride. For most riders, this was their first time in an autonomous car. Read more...
