Olympics organizers are hoping to construct medals for Tokyo 2020 from recycled smartphones.

Instagram just ruined Instagram

Instagram, the popular social network based around sharing photos, died suddenly on Tuesday. The service was 6 years old.

The cause of death was trying to be everything to everyone, a condition it had suffered for months but had been managing quite well. Despite its status as both a top-rated app in Apple's App Store and one of Facebook's prized acquisitions, Instagram couldn't find a path that remained true to its original mission, a fact that became evident when a new beta version of the app showed the service was experimenting with a way to share albums of photos, as opposed to a singular image. Leaked video shows 'nightmare inducing' robot from Boston Dynamics

The company behind Atlas has a new impressive and terrifying robot.

Alphabet-owned Boston Dynamics is expanding beyond robots with legs. The company, which has previously made two-legged, human-like robots like Atlas and four-legged, dog-like robots like Spot, is now experimenting with a robot on wheels.

Venture capitalist Steve Jurvetson shared a video of Boston Dynamics showing off a new robot called Handle — named apparently after its supposed ability to handle objects — that uses both wheels and legs.

Instagram is testing photo albums, because nothing is sacred anymore

Instagram is about to get a lot more like Facebook.

The app is testing a new feature that allows you to share multiple photos and/or videos in a single post. That's right: photo albums could be coming to Instagram.

The feature, which is currently live in the beta version of Instagram's Android app, allows you to select up to 10 photos and videos to combine into a single post. It's not clear what the final post would look like in the app's feed, as the beta doesn't allow you to actually share such a post, but presumably it would look like the app's "carousel" ads that allow you to swipe through multiple photos.
