Amazon tried rebranding warehouse employees as 'industrial athletes'

If the punishing pace of thankless work in an Amazon warehouse is getting you down, why not eat some lettuce?

A new Motherboard report has revealed a pamphlet produced by Amazon as part of its WorkingWell program, and it looks like something out of an optimistically oblivious high school health class. Characterising warehouse workers as "industrial athletes," the irrationally sunny, vaguely condescending missive attempts to reframe Amazon workers' grueling shifts as an invigorating challenge rather than spirit breaking grunt work.

"Here at Amazon, you will become an industrial athlete," reads the pamphlet, with original emphasis. "Just like an athlete who trains for an event, industrial athletes need to prepare their bodies to be able [to] perform their best at work. Apple's iPhone 13 may come with a significantly bigger battery

In its last iteration, Apple's iPhone didn't get any improvements in terms of battery size, or – more importantly – battery life. For example, the iPhone 11 Pro has a 3,046mAh battery with an advertised 18 hours of battery life, while the iPhone 12 Pro has a smaller, 2,815mAh battery with an advertised 17 hours of battery life.

But this may change with the upcoming iPhone 13. Leaker L0vetodream posted the battery capacity figures for the iPhone 13 models, and they look...well, better than they are on the iPhone 12 models. 

Namely, the iPhone 13 mini will have a 2,406mAh battery, the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Pro will have a 3,095mAh battery, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max will have a 4,352mAh battery.  Read more...

BMW reveals all-electric SUV pricing, fast-charging specs

When BMW set out to make the iX, it promised to stuff all the latest tech available into its all-electric SUV.

While there was plenty to drool over at the unveiling of its technology flagship on Tuesday in Los Angeles, several of the forward-thinking tech features BMW had showcased in a concept car that preceded the iX didn't make it into the production vehicle. And a lot of the coolest driving assistance options, like having the car change lanes for you or follow the car in front of you, don't come standard — something other all-electric SUV manufacturers already offer. 

The all-wheel drive BMW iX, which is set to go on sale sometime between January and March 2022, will start at $83,200, go about 300 miles on a single charge, has a top speed of 144 mph, and bursts from 0-62 mph in 4.6 seconds. Its dual motors provide 516 horsepower. Read more...
