Black Friday loses steam, but crowds should still be gigantic

Amazon has transformed the traditional Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals into a two-month-long ordeal in an effort to drive more online sales. But shoppers are still expected to head out in droves this year post-Turkey Day. 

That said, foot traffic to brick and mortar sales shops on Black Friday is expected to decrease by 3.5 percent compared to last year, according to Foursquare, the check-in app turned location intelligence company. 

While the traffic is down, it is far less extreme than the double-digit drop Foursquare's data estimates the holiday faced from 2014 to 2015.  Read more...
