The special edition Back to the Future style Nike Mag self-lacing sneakers are all gone, but you'll soon be able to get the next best thing in the Nike HyperAdapt — if you pay the high price.
Reports emerged Monday on social media that the HyperAdapt sneakers would cost a whopping $1,000. However, a Nike spokesperson has confirmed to Mashable that the sneakers will actually cost $720 and be released on Dec. 1, not Nov. 28, as some sources have been reporting.
And while $720 is significantly lower than $1,000, the price still makes this one of the most expensive sneakers Nike has ever released. Apparently, Nike believes people will pay a premium for the self-lacing the technology embedded in an otherwise simple-looking shoe design. Read more...
