eBay selects Apple Pay as its first post-PayPal payment option

eBay is continuing its transition away from PayPal as the auction site's primary payment-processing service by adding new ways to pay.

Apple Pay will be the first new payment service the site has added since spinning off PayPal a few years ago. EBay has continued to support PayPal, which manages transactions for users who select that option. However, eBay will start handling a limited number of transactions itself, starting in the U.S. and will offer Apple Pay as one of the payment options in those cases.
