TL;DR: Best Buy has a few portable air conditioners on sale as of May 5 — grab an Insignia 250-square foot AC for $199.99, an LG 400-square foot AC for $464.99, or an SPT 700-square foot AC for $446.99.
It's heating up outside, but we'll still have to spend the majority of our time indoors for a bit longer. If you live alone and don't have central air conditioning, now might not be the best time to attempt to put in a window AC unit by yourself. We all saw what happened to Chidi in The Good Place.
Instead of trying to finagle a massive window unit into place, opt for a portable air conditioner — at least for the time being. While portable air conditioning units are easier to install and can be repositioned where you want them in the room, they do have a pretty unsightly ventilation tube that has to be connected to your window.
