You can rent electric scooters, borrow a stranger's car, and even grab an e-bike on the side of the road, but it's not often you get a chance to ride a motorcycle with three wheels.
Starting Tuesday, motorcycle company Can-Am's three wheeled-vehicles, the Spyder and Ryker, will be available to rent through the car-sharing app Turo. It's only in eight cities throughout California, Nevada, and South Carolina, but in those places you won't have to throw down thousands for a ride on the extreme vehicles.
The Ryker, which starts at about $8,500 to own, and the top-of-the-line $17,500-Spyder, will go anywhere from about $30 to over $150 an hour to rent. It's at the owner's discretion how they want to price it since it's a peer-to-peer platform, but you can take one out for an hour joy ride without putting in a down payment. Read more...
