These moving 3-D printed sculptures are actually optical illusions

John Edmark is a design lecturer who created this 3-D printed sculpture which appear to animate when rotated. The movement is an optical illusion created using a high-speed camera or a strobe light. 

Edmark has shared instructions about how to print your own sculptures on the DYI website Instructables.
