This creepy crawling robot has a skeleton made from tree branches

Who said robots have to be artificially fabricated from scratch? A team of researchers in Japan, led by University of Tokyo's Azumi Maekawa, collected tree branches and used them as the skeleton of this crawling creature. The robot learned how to move using Deep Reinforcement Learning in simulation and it is proof that using found objects as the raw material to make simple robots is an idea worth exploring.
