Microsoft is blocking some PCs from getting the Windows 10 Creators Update

Microsoft definitely wants you to upgrade its sparkly new Creators Update for Windows 10 — unless you have a old PC.

The company began rolling out the software update a few weeks ago, giving Windows users with "newer devices" first access to the Creators update, which includes amped-up protection via Windows Defender, improvements to the Edge browser, and new 3D capabilities.

Apparently, the Update has been too much to handle for some of the older devices running Windows 10, so Microsoft is actually blocking some users from the upgrade. John Cable, Director of Program Management for Windows Servicing and Delivery, wrote a blog post earlier this week to confirm that Microsoft has been deploying blocks to prevent the rollout from reaching devices that might be affected by user-reported issues, at least until the problems are solved.  Read more...
