Literally making phone casings crystal clear, though, might just be taking the sentiment to the extreme.
YouTuber JerryRigEverything did just that and decided to create a transparent Galaxy S8, à la those classic, clear Game Boy Colors gamers loved in the mid-90s.
First, he removed the back casing, which, as iFixit noted in its teardown of the device, is a tough task to complete without causing any damage or cracks. Then he used paint and epoxy remover to strip the paint and give the back of the phone that see-through look. Read more...
