Night Shift is headed to the Mac to help you sleep better

Longtime Mac users know all about the wonders of f.lux, a third-party system preference that automatically adjusts your screen's color temperature, shifting it from blue to yellow throughout the day in order to combat the harmful effects of blue light.

With iOS 9.3, Apple added a feature called "Night Shift" that's essentially f.lux, but for your iPhone or iPad. The useful feature is now headed to the Mac.

The latest developer beta for macOS Sierra version 10.4.1 beta 1, includes a Night Shift mode. How it works is unclear (we're working on installing the new version), but we wouldn't be surprised if it works much like f.lux. Read more...
