Forget the Galaxy S8, Samsung's already working on the Galaxy S9

The Galaxy S8 and S8+ just launched, but that doesn't mean Samsung's resting on its laurels, popping bottles over how pretty its newest smartphone is.

As always, work on next year's flagship phone begins well before the launch of the current one.

According to The Investor, Samsung and Qualcomm have started designing the next mobile system-on-chip (SoC) for Samsung's Galaxy S9, slated to launch next year. The follow-up chip to the Galaxy S8's existing Snapdragon 835 will reportedly be called the Snapdragon 845.

It's believed the chip will still be based off the 835's 10-nanometer manufacturing process, allowing for further increased performance and greater power efficiency. Read more...
