When the highly anticipated iPhone 8 finally drops later this year, it'll be tough to get Apple fanatics to put their devices down — until their batteries eventually die, that is.
There is some (potential) good news for power users, though: powering up the iPhone 8 might just be the fastest, most seamless experience of any iPhone yet. The iPhone 8 could be in line for some new quick-charging capabilities, according to a recent Barclays investors note obtained by MacRumors.
The note claims the iPhone 8 will be bundled with the necessary specs for the fast charging thanks to new USB-C Power Delivery chips in the device and a new power adapter, which would allow Apple to introduce the capability without ditching its proprietary Lightning connector. The new prediction builds on previous insights from respected Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo, who wrote about potential USB-C to Lightning quick charging in a research note back in March. Read more...
