The Tesla Model S P100D has hit a new acceleration record, according to a recent test by Motor Trend.
The test was performed in Tesla's "full-on Ludicrous Easter egg mode," and saw the car hit 60mph in 2.28 seconds. According to Motor Trend, that makes it the first production car to reach 60mph in under 2.3 seconds, beating out the Porsche 911 Turbo S and Ferrari La Ferrari.
A software update last December allowed the S P100D to reach 60mph in just 2.4 seconds, according to a tweet from Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
