This much-needed feature is going to make Sonos speakers way more fun

You’ll finally be able to control your Sonos speakers with Amazon's Alexa — and it might not be the only digital assistant in the device’s future.

The news was revealed earlier this week at an event in Boston, where Sonos executives also made it sound like the company is gunning for even more AI partners, which could provide users with a "brand-agnostic voice control system," CNET reports.

Sonos VP of software Antoine Leblond took the stage and paused the music playing over the room's Play:5 speakers by giving Alexa a command. The device didn't have the AI built-in, though — the music was being played through the speakers via an Amazon Echo Dot, which is how Alexa joined the party.    Read more...
